One of the key objectives of GBKCIO is to educate and promote a high standard of Beekeeping. To this aim, we provide a wide range of educational services and support to our members and outside organisations who wish to promote all aspects of honey bee welfare.
From school visits and taster days for individuals, through to help and support of our members to gain their Master Beekeepers accreditation we can help you to reach your goal in supporting honey bees.
Educational Activites
Taster Sessions
A two hour session where individuals can experience the thrill of Beekeeping
Each February, GBKCIO run an "Introduction to Beekeeping Course" with the objective at the end to give an individual the knowledge and the confidence they need to manage their own hive of bees.
GBKCIO members often attend local agricultural and countryside shows with a stand and talk to the public about bees and beekeeping. People find the exhibit of live bees in a display fascinating and is always the centre of attention.
Talks and Lectures
Our members will come to your organisation's meeting and present a talk on many aspects of the welfare of bees and beekeeping.
Please review the other pages in this section to gain more details of the above activities.
